Chemonics seeks multiple positions for the anticipated USAID-funded Vietnam Counter-Wildlife Trafficking project. The Counter-Wildlife Trafficking project will focus on reducing the demand and trade of wildlife species through coordination with government, law enforcement, and private sector engagement. Objectives of the project include: 1) Increase commitment of the government of Vietnam’s leaders at the national and provincial level; 2) Enhance stronger law enforcement coordination at provincial levels; and 3) Reduce consumer demand for illegal wildlife products. We are looking for individuals who have a passion for making a difference in the lives of people around the world.
Senior specialist/team leader (multiple positions)
Minimum of 10 years of experience in one or more of the following technical areas:
- Government or private sector partnerships which address wildlife trafficking
- Awareness campaigns to counter international wildlife trade
- Wildlife farm management regulation
- Education programs which foster connection with regional wildlife
- Research development and implementation surrounding behavior change communication
- Demand reduction in wildlife and wildlife products
- Knowledge sharing of trends and/or behavior related to wildlife trafficking
- Sustainable livelihoods
- Environmental law enforcement and border control policy
- Technology applications for wildlife protection and enforcement
- Monitoring and evaluation
- Communications
- Activity and staff management
- Prior experience working with international donor funded grants and contracts preferred
- Demonstrated leadership, versatility, and integrity
- Fluency in English and Vietnamese; excellent written and oral communication skills
Deputy chief of party
Minimum of 10 years of experience and understanding in one or more of the above technical areas:
- Minimum of five years project and staff management experience
- Prior experience working with international donor funded grants and contracts required
- Excellent organizational skills and written and verbal communications
- Excellent relationship management skills
- Demonstrated leadership, versatility, and integrity
- Fluent English
