Traidcraft Exchange is an international development charity which uses the power of trade to bring about lasting solutions to poverty. It runs development programmes in South Asia and Africa, works directly with businesses to improve their supply chains and does advocacy and campaigning in the UK to promote justice and fairness in international trade.
Traidcraft Exchange (TX) with support from DFID is implementing a three-year project titled, Sustainable Agriculture & Women’s Advancement: Improving Livelihoods and Establishing Women led Enterprises with Smallholder Farmers in Meru County Kenya (SAWA).Traidcraft Exchange wishes to undertake a mid-term review to assess progress of the project to date. This is a short-term consultancy to undertake a Mid-Term Review for Sustainable Agriculture & Women’s Advancement (SAWA) project in Buuri Sub-county, Meru county, Kenya. The aim of this consultancy is to assess progress to date; re-evaluate the approaches of the project implementation; re-evaluate the effectiveness of implementation approaches; identify constraints and/or opportunities which have emerged during the two years of implementation; and to identify and document lessons learnt. This is a temporal contract and will take approximately 20 days.
Key requirements include:
· Understanding and experience in the sector or general development experience
· Proven experience in monitoring and evaluation including ability to design, digitize and implement primary research tools and processes.
· Experience in project management
· Interpersonal skills and ability to talk to people in different backgrounds and roles
· Ability and experience of using interactive, participatory techniques in monitoring and evaluation
· Analytical skills and ability to synthesise and summarise huge volumes of data
· Evidence of good report writing
· Good written and spoken English
