Salary: £28,407 – £30,769

About the role.

At Internews we seek to grow our corporate partnerships so that they play an integral role in the organisation’s growth. Our ideal candidate will have corporate partnerships experience or a successful sales career behind them and a demonstrable track record of driving new business.

Working closely with our UK-based CEO and US-based Vice-President of External Affairs, the successful candidate will:

  • support the development of dynamic, targeted and engaging partnerships using your excellent relationship management skills to deliver on the strategic objectives of the charity and our corporate partners; and
  • manage, retain and develop new current corporate partnerships, using the full suite of fundraising mechanisms, to include cause-related marketing, sponsorship, corporate donations, employee fundraising and strategic partnerships.

Roles and Responsibilities.

  • Establish yourself as the primary contact / account manager for the partnership(s), identifying and building productive, trusting and proactive relationships;
  • Work with partners to establish and agree realistic and deliverable partnership objectives;
  • Develop internal relationships at Internews to ensure all necessary staff are fully engaged in the partnerships;
  • Identify opportunities to build additional non-financial relationships within partnership to support additional aspects of Internews’ mission;
  • Identify opportunities to engage the Senior Management Team at Internews with senior staff at the corporate partner as part of a strategy for building longer-term support;
  • Use and maintain Salesforce as an account management and development tool;
  • Undertaking administrative responsibilities related to new funding being secured including liaising with Programme Support and Finance teams to record new income and ensuring all funding agreements are signed and returned on time.

Person Specification

  • Proven experience working successfully in a corporate fundraising position in the third sector, securing 5-figure and 6-figure donations; or
  • This position may suit a successful sales person looking to move into new areas;
  • Outstanding relationship builder and networker both internally and externally;
  • Experience of managing relationships with corporate partners;
  • Demonstrable experience of maximising opportunities from researching prospects to generating meetings, and securing income to achieve targets;
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office (particularly Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint); and CRM databases (specifically Salesforce) and good, accurate typing skills;
  • Tactful and assertive, with the ability to communicate and work collaboratively at all levels in a complex environment;
  • A high level of practical and organisational skills;
  • Ability to work on your own initiative.
