The starting salary for this position is £37,104 GBP / approx. $48,000 USD per annum plus per diem whilst travelling on MAG business

About MAG in South and South East Asia:

MAG supports the development of countries emerging from conflict by finding and destroying the explosive remnants of war, so that communities can raise their families and pursue their livelihoods in a safe and secure environment, free from fear of death or injury. The main area of focus in MAG’s programmes across the South and South East Asia region is Humanitarian Mine Action work, working on the clearance of cluster munitions and explosive ordnance disposal. The countries in this region that we work in are Vietnam, Sri Lanka, Cambodia, Myanmar and Laos.

About the role:

The Regional Procurement and Logistics Manager is a new post which will play a key part within the region for the global restructuring of MAGs procurement and logistics function. The post holder will report to the Global Head of Procurement and Logistics (with dotted line management to the Regional Director), and will be a member of the Regional Senior Management Team (SMT). This position will lead logistics change management components, supporting adoption at country programme level of MAG’s Procurement and Inventory Framework, global fleet management initiative, and asset tracking system; while providing hands-on support at country level in managing any contingent operational needs. You will capacity build national logistics staff within the region, and will set up and manage systems, increasing the efficiency and effectiveness of support service functions. You will also provide support to the Regional Director in risk management.

This position is home based, ideally within the Asia Region, with regular travel to MAG’s programmes within SSEA. However, MAG are open to considering other home base locations outside of Asia providing the time zone is compatible with working hours in MAG’s Programmes in SSEA. About you:

You will have senior International procurement and logistics management experience in the NGO sector and experience of developing, implementing and managing large scale procurement and logistics operations and management systems in complex environments. The post holder will also need to have previous experience of playing a lead role within organizational change management initiatives and have excellent organisational skills with the ability to coordinate activities, teams and improve processes. Demonstrable experience of leading large teams and managing/capacity building at both field and head office level within more than one country of operation will also be essential.

You will be self-motivated, able to demonstrate initiative and have the ability to establish effective working relationships across various functions quickly and at all levels.
