Who we are?
IDA is an international independent non-governmental organization providing medical and humanitarian assistance to people affected by conflicts, natural disasters and epidemics regardless of race, religion, gender or political affiliation.
IDA was founded in 2012 by Syrian doctors from Aleppo in response to the healthcare and humanitarian crisis in Syria.
IDA Syria is the main healthcare provider in Northern Aleppo/Syria area, working closely with 500,000 IDPs and 700,000 host community through 20 healthcare facility and other health and nutrition projects
During last year, IDA has provided 1.2 million services in Heath, Nutrition, WaSH and Camp Management.
Responsibilities:
- Support the CM and/or IPA Officer to ensure that all volunteers and community focal points are aware of criteria and processes for identification and registration of individual protection cases eligible for assessment
- Undertake rapid and detailed assessment for individual protection cases
- Prepare intervention plans and case summaries for cases following detailed assessments.
- Undertake distribution of items following standard operating procedures
- Provide case follow-up until cases can responsibly and appropriately be closed
- Record relevant assessment, intervention plan, and follow up information in the case management database in a timely fashion
- Collect and update information on services available and protection actors in Kilis province
- Adhere to the standards of conduct outlined in the Programme Participant Protection Policy and IDA Code of Conduct.
- Represent IDA as requested in various meetings and forums with government, non-government organizations and other stakeholders; and strengthen relationships with them.
- Ensure the organization and the implementation of all protection activities at field level following the agreed Workplan and the international standards
- Prepare necessary activity and protection reports (weekly, monthly, ad hoc)
- Identify and intervene on protection cases in the host communities with technical support from the line manager.
- Refer protection cases to partner agencies and seek to solicit services for them.
- Ensure all protection activities and cases are individually documented, filed and up to date in an electronic file.
- Engage with communities directly and create awareness on human rights, child protection, SGBV, and other protection-related topics
- Train community members, partner staff and other local authorities on protection topics
- Identify protection trends and bring this to the attention of the line manager for action planning.
- Carry out advocacy and sensitization activities at the field level
- Conduct community meetings, FGDs, and other direct community activities as part of protection monitoring.
- Document all protection activities on Kobo.
- Any other duties as agreed with the Line Manager
Qualifications:
- At least 3 years of work experience
- Certificate of Psychology, Sociology or any other related field
- Good communication skills and ability to speak with individuals among the refugee community as well as all protection actors in the field respectfully
- Proficiency in written and spoken English, Turkish and Arabic
- Good awareness of security risks and risk management
- Good organization and reporting skills
- Positive attitude, team player, and willingness to learn
- To adhere to the standards of conduct outlined in the Programme Participant Protection Policy and IDA Code of Conduct.
- Administrative works skills
