The Global Network of Civil Society Organisation’s for Disaster Reduction (GNDR) is seeking a Regional Coordinator to support the network in the South East & East Asia, and Pacific Subregion. Applicants can be based in Bangkok, Manila, Jakarta or Kuala Lumpur, and other locations with similar access to Bangkok may be considered.
GNDR is a network of member organisations across 127 countries striving to build resilience of disaster-prone communities. We have an exciting opportunity for a Regional Coordinator to oversee our work in the South East & East Asia, and Pacific Subregion. The role is responsible for all activities in the subregion, including the development, support and management of members organisations; knowledge management on Risk Informed Development; supporting fundraising and project management; and influencing policy-makers to adopt and implement Risk Informed Development.
Candidates must have a background in international development, with a relevant degree and substantial experience working in either development or humanitarian sectors, with a good understanding of the issues surrounding disasters, resilience, and development, including the Sendai Framework, Paris Agreement, and the SDGs. Candidates should also have experience working alongside governments, UN bodies, institutional donors and inter-governmental bodies, implementing advocacy initiatives at national or regional level. It is expected that candidates will have experience of working in civil society organisations and networks, and experience in implementing capacity strengthening initiatives for CSOs. Candidates must have excellent communications skills, including excellent written and spoken fluency in English. Candidates should have networking, representational, and influencing skills.
