Brief description of the NGO Forum:

The NGO Forum coordinate, represent and advocate on behalf of its members – National and International NGOs operating cross-border in northwestern Syria.

Partnership working group is one of seven working groups led by the NGO Forum and managed by the Partnership Coordinator.

The partnership working group is the continued efforts of the former partnership platform with an independent advisory group. The advisory group consists of two SNGOs, two INGOs and one UN agency currently represented by IOM.

The partnership working group is open to all NGOs operating in northwestern Syria.

Partnership Working Group works mainly in three areas: coordination, capacity building, and harmonizing partnership tools.

Purpose of the Position:

The Information Officer will be mainly responsible for:

  • Deliver training Calendar for NW Syria humanitarian agencies, and Online Training Platform to offer basic humanitarian training, including PSEA training.
  • Train the Partnership Working Group members on how to use the online training calendar and the online training platform.
  • Develop a manual to explain to users how to use the online training calendar and the online training platform.
  • Support members in filling in their data in both the online training calendar and the online training platform.
  • Upload basic training sessions and modules provided by NGO Forum.

Job Responsibilities:

Training Calendar:

  • Prepare a manual on how to use the training calendar.
  • Train users on how to use the calendar and add their data.
  • Follow up with organizations to share their data for done and upcoming training.
  • Administer the flow of data and permit member additions and assign adequate roles as per the platform.

Online Training Platform:

  • Prepare a manual on how to use the training calendar.
  • Train the staff to learn how to add new training to the platform.
  • Add/modify the selected training material.
  • Follow up for the website materials and content update.
  • Ensure having translated material on the platform.

Knowledge and Qualifications:

  • A completed university degree in information technology, business administration or any related specification.
  • Minimum of five years of work experience.
  • Minimum of two years’ experience of work in the programming field.
  • Experience in coordination and data collection.
  • Excellent analytical skills.
  • Language requirements: fluent in English and Arabic.
  • Communication and coordination skills.

Local Nationality Turkish or Syrian, (Short term residency if Syrian).
