Under the direct supervision of Programme Policy Officer (School Feeding) and the overall supervision of Deputy Head of Programme, Senior Programme Associate (School Feeding) will be responsible for the following duties:-

  • Provide technical support and assist in the development and implementation of various activities and processes within the school feeding area of work, supporting alignment with wider WFP programme policies and guidelines.
  • Provide specialized project management support to school feeding programe to ensure that the activities are performed within the established targets following WFP’s policies and procedures.
  • Within the specific area of responsibility, prepare a range of reports and data analysis, identifying needs, resource utilization, program status, performance and highlight trends/issues ensuring deliverables adhere to corporate standard and quality control.
  • Coordinate and collaborate with internal and external counterparts including development partners, UN agencies, NGOs, private sectors and government Ministries to support effective implementation and monitoring of the National School Feeding Programme (NSFP).
  • Support regular communication with the MoHS and MOE on operational matters and participate in NSFP policy level discussions.
  • Provide technical support to MoHS/MoE and relevant Ministries for implementation of school meal programme for the NSFP, including development of national guidelines.
  • Establish monitoring mechanism for NSFP in line with SFP guidelines and national priorities to measure the output and outcome of the SFP systematically.
  • Support capacity strengthening of WFP staff and government in the area of school feeding; including trainings to the TEOs and schoolteachers for the implementation of NSFP.
  • Liaise with Field Offices and Country Office (CO) units for targeting, identifying needs, resource utilization, ensuring deliverables adhere to corporate standard and quality control; Design IEC materials and advocacy campaign for awareness raising for the SFP;
  • Maintain accuracy and timeliness of data for the SFP to ensure consistency of information across the program;
  • Act as a focal point for resolution of a range of operational queries and issues within the technical area of school feeding;
  • Conduct field visits, including assessment missions to support programme implementation and ensure follow up actions are taken.
  • Follow standard emergency preparedness practices to ensure WFP is able to quickly respond and deploy needed resources to affected areas at the onset of the crisis perform any other appropriate duties as requested by the supervisors.
  • Perform any other appropriate duties as requested by the supervisors.
