1. THE ORGANISATION

The International Planned Parenthood Federation (IPPF) is a leading global service provider and advocate of sexual and reproductive health and rights for all. 2. THE ROLE

The IPPF-SPRINT initiative aims to ensure access to life-saving Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights (SRHR) services during emergencies. The function of this role is to manage and coordinate the SPRINT III project to be implemented until December 2021 under the umbrella of the IPPF’s Humanitarian Programme. The primary responsibility is to support the IPPF Humanitarian Director, Deputy Director and the Project team in managing reporting and contractual obligations of the project**

3. KEY TASKS

Project Management

· Develop, with the Humanitarian team, the annual SPRINT III work plan and budget.

· Manage the SPRINT III project through monitoring and adhering to the annual work plans and budgets of the IPPF Humanitarian Team and MAs.

· Oversee compliance with DFAT and IPPF policies and requirements.

· Review proposals, project and financial reports related to SPRINT III and provide feedback to MAs.

· Prepare and submit high-quality project narrative and financial reports to donors.

· Support project advisers to conduct project reviews and evaluations, resource mobilisation, advocacy and inclusion.

· Ensure the project meets all its contractual obligations

· Undertake such other reasonable duties as may be requested from time to time.

Stakeholder Relations

· Build and maintain positive working relationships with all members of staff and contacts both within and outside the Federation, including Member Associations and other relevant stakeholders.

· Maintain open and effective communication with DFAT on all aspects of SPRINT III

· Prepare updates and share information about SPRINT III activities with other colleagues and relevant internal or external stakeholders.

· Support in the promotion of SPRINT and advocate for SRH services for crisis-affected populations in the Asia-Pacific region via participation at selected conferences, meetings, trainings, media events etc.

· Prepare concept notes and papers about SPRINT III to be presented at national, regional and international fora and working groups.

Technical Assistance

· Support Humanitarian Team and Member Association (MA) staff and volunteers to implement SPRINT III project activities in-line with IPPF and DFAT policy and procedures.

· Work with the M&E advisor to ensure all monitoring and evaluation of SPRINT III aligns with IPPF and DFAT requirements.

· Provide technical assistance to country programs to prepare and develop appropriate plans, budgets and quality reports, in line with IPPF and DFAT requirements.

PERSON SPECIFICATION

4. QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE

· Postgraduate qualification in international development, public health or a related field.

· Advanced experience working in project management for international development or health programs.

· Experience in managing large, multi-year and multi-country projects with numerous stakeholders under rigorous deadlines (required).

· Experience working to donor government contract requirements, policies and guidelines (DFAT preferred; others considered).

· Experience working in fragile, conflict-affected and/or insecure environments.

· Practical knowledge and understanding of international humanitarian aid systems and agencies.

· Knowledge of sexual and reproductive health care (desired).

· Experience working in the Asia-Pacific region (desired)

5. SKILLS

· Written and spoken fluency in English (required).

· Advanced project management, analytical and problem solving skills, including the ability to think creatively and suggest alternatives.

· Strong organisational, administrative and time management skills.

· Strong written and verbal communications, including negotiation, influencing and cross-cultural skills.

· Proven relationship building skills and ability to work collaboratively and effectively in cross-cultural settings, and with a wide variety of organisations.

· Strong attention to detail and follow-up.

· Advanced computer literacy (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Adobe).

6. PERSONAL ATTRIBUTES

· Pro-choice on abortion (required).

· International profile with established connections to relevant SRH/humanitarian stakeholders (desired).

· Capacity and willingness to be extremely flexible and accommodating in difficult and sometimes insecure working circumstances.

· Able to work independently and be self-motivated in defining goals and objectives, while also working collaboratively in a team across disciplines and cultures.

· Willingness to travel extensively and at short notice.
