In collaboration with UNODC Regional Office for Southeast Asia and the Pacific (ROSEAP) sub-programme on transnational organized crime and illicit trafficking, the GP is working for and with the wildlife law enforcement community in Asia and the Pacific to ensure that wildlife crime, illegal logging, and related crimes are treated as serious transnational organized crime. In East and Southeast Asia, focuses have been given to the enhancement of the capacities and skills of law enforcement agencies to effectively address transnational organized crime (TOC) involved in wildlife trafficking. Training courses that combines field and meeting room activities have been designed and catered to the need of the region to this end. |

Duties and Responsibilities |

OBJECTIVES OF THE ASSIGNMENT Under the supervision of the UNODC Regional Coordinator for Combatting Wildlife and Forest Crime, the incumbent will be requested to design and deliver a wide range of training material for law enforcement officers in East and Southeast Asia to combat wildlife and other transnational organized crime. SCOPE OF WORK The incumbent will work in close coordination with UNODC ROSEAP managers from the illicit trafficking unit, as well as other instructors and experts. DURATION OF ASSIGNMENT, DUTY STATION AND EXPECTED PLACES OF TRAVEL Assignment Duration: Maximum 3 years, from 1 January 2021 – 31 December 2023. Duty station is Home-based within Southeast Asia with travel to selected countries in Asia. FINAL PRODUCTS Payment will be made based on timely and satisfactory completion of assigned tasks/training/ missions/inputs, with consistent attention to quality and detail of outputs. PROVISION OF MONITORING AND PROGRESS CONTROLS The incumbent shall work under the overall supervision of the Regional Coordinator of the UNODC Programme on Wildlife and Forest Crime in Southeast Asia. For each specific training activities, the UNODC Regional Coordinator will specify the relevant objectives, timelines and reporting requirements for completing the respective tasks.
