Reports to the Program Manager of the Political and Public Affairs section of the Embassy (Foreign Policy and Diplomacy Service/FPDS). Provides administrative support services to the political and public affairs activities of the FPDS section. This includes clerical duties such as filing, budget assistance, scheduling meetings and appointments, assisting with pre-visit arrangements and hospitality events (including virtual), contact management and the administration of social media channels. . It also involves a virtual component and administration of social media channels. Essential qualifications: Candidates will initially be screened against the Essential Qualifications relating to education, experience and language. Candidates must clearly demonstrate in their cover letter and CV how they meet each of these essential qualifications. Candidates who do not demonstrate sufficiently will not be progressed to the next stage. Education: • A bachelor’s degree from a recognized university or two (2) year’s equivalent experience over and above the experience specified below working in an administrative support capacity. Language: • Fluency in English (spoken, written, comprehension) • Fluency in French (spoken, written, comprehension) Experience: • Two (2) years of experience working in an office with main duties related to most or all of the following areas – administration, finance, redaction of official letters, notes and e-mails, research, reporting, translating documents, cultural and media relations, event management, client service and public affairs. Rated Requirements The Rated Requirements relating to knowledge, abilities and competencies will also be assessed. Methods of assessment may include, but are not limited to, a written examination, an oral interview, role-play, practical tests, presentations and/or psychometric assessment. Normal working week is 37.5 hours.
