The British High Commission in Nicosia is part of a world-wide network representing British political, economic and consular interests overseas and is now looking to recruit a temporary cleaner to provider cover during maternity leave. Working to the Residence Manager, he/she will have collective responsibility for effective implementation of the below responsibilities and duties in both British High Commission premises in north and south Nicosia.
Main responsibilities will include:
- Working in a small team of two, to ensure that all High Commission properties (including the offices and residential properties) are cleaned to a high standard;
- To follow health and safety procedures at all times.
- Previous experience in cleaning services;
- Ability to work under pressure, unsupervised, and as well as part of a 2-person team;
- Must be able to speak English;
- A professional manner;
- Strong customer service skills;
- An organised working manner.
- Driving licence;
- Proficiency in Greek and/or Turkish would be an asset.

This is a full-time 6 months fixed-term contract to cover a maternity leave.
The gross monthly salary for this position is €859.71 gross at S3(L) grade level.
The confirmation of appointment is subject to professional background checks and security clearance procedures, as well as the successful completion of a 6 month probation period.
The successful candidate must be free of any convictions, and undergo a UK security clearance process.

Staff recruited locally by the British High Commission in Nicosia are subject to the Terms and Conditions of Service according to local Republic of Cyprus employment law.
