Lebohang Marekimane is an experienced Geographic Information Systems (GIS) Consultant with over 15 years of experience. She has worked with clients in various industries, including NGOs, development agencies, government, engineering, telecommunications, and town planning.

Ms. Marekimane holds a Master’s Degree in GIS, an Honours Degree in GIS, and a BA Degree in Urban and Regional Planning, offering her a broad range of skills and expertise. She has proven to be a notable consultant with a wide range of competencies demonstrated through her ten years of experience in South Africa and eight years in Lesotho.

As an independent GIS consultant, she has demonstrated her abilities in performing spatial analysis, geospatial data collection and mapping, and stakeholder and community engagement. Additionally, she is knowledgeable in preparing user requirements for GIS systems, data collection and analysis, coordination of survey implementation, quality assurance, and providing advisory services. She has participated in National Information System for Social Assistance (NISSA) Surveys in both community and urban councils from 2017 to 2021 in Lesotho.

One of the services she offered was providing GIS services for the planning and development of infrastructural projects. During her employment with an Urban and Regional Planning company, Ms. Marekimane provided technical expertise by analysing data and creating maps, conducting spatial analysis to determine project locations and performing risk assessments. She also collaborated with other professionals to ensure that development projects aligned with existing policies and were executable.

Throughout her career, her versatility and adaptability have been showcased by her service to numerous clients, including but not limited to, Water and Sewerage Company (WASCO), UNICEF, Ministry of Social Development (MOSD), Maseru City Council (MCC), Independent Electoral Commission (IEC), Lesotho Millennium Development Agency (LMDA), Department of Rural Water Supply (DRWS), Aurecon Department of Water & Sanitation (DWS), and Eskom.
