Malaria Consortium is recruiting for a Senior Technical Advisor to join our team in Yangon, Myanmar

The Senior Technical Advisor for Malaria Control & Elimination (STA) will provide overall technical leadership, oversight and support to a wide range of program implementation issues and technical assistance for the anticipated USAID-funded PMI Malaria Elimination project. The position holder will provide technical direction to the project’s technical and implementation teams including partner organizations.

The successful candidate will have:

  • Medical degree, Master’s in Public Health, epidemiology, disease control or related discipline
  • At least seven years of experience performing as a technical lead in malaria programs, with at least five years of experience in malaria elimination in Cambodia or other countries with an elimination setting
  • Published work in the field of malaria or related field preferred
  • Experience in maintaining relationships with a broad range of stakeholders such as host government counterparts, donors, implementing partners, and private sector entities
  • Experience and understanding of working with Ministries of Health in policy and strategy formulation
  • Experience and good understanding of the Myanmar health system
  • Experience working on USAID funded health programs, with some experience at senior level
  • Strong English language skills, especially good oral and written communication skills.
