Job purpose
To support the research team on a large, multi-year systems change project in the public sector in Lebanon.
Responsibilities
· Support the research manager to deliver contractual reporting across a range of informational,
analytical and research products
· Draft literature reviews on a range of thematics for specific audiences
· Support the research manager in research design, and subsequently carry out data collection, cleaning
and analysis activities where relevant
· Research and apply innovative approaches to research in complex settings
· Ensure all research activity and reporting is gender, inclusion and conflict sensitive
· Support the research manager with visualization of key data, findings etc.
· Any other research tasks as reasonably requested by the Research Manager or RMEL lead
Qualifications
Essential:**
· 3-5 years’ experience
· Fluent in English and Arabic
· Advanced degree, ideally in (social) sciences, international relations, political science
· Excellent understanding of qualitative and quantitative methodology
· Excellent understanding of theory and practice related to research ethics
· Previous experience mainstreaming gender, inclusion and conflict sensitivity into research design and
implementation
· Out of the box thinker, motivated by contributing to change in Lebanon, and keen to work on an
exciting team
Desirable:
· Experience using Tableau, PowerBi and other information management and visualisation tools
· Past experience working on systems change projects, ideally in public sector and/or in security sector
· Experience showing innovative approaches to research in complex contexts and/or projects
· Experience working in diverse teams
