ABOUT GLOBAL POLICY REVIEW

The International Women’s Initiative’s (IWI) mission is to support women seeking to improve their circumstances and act as an ally to those who wish to promote positive and sustainable changes within their local communities. As the newest initiative and a successor to Global Legal Review, Global Policy Review was established as a means to collect, analyse and disaggregate information affecting women’s rights. It is made up of a team of dedicated and passionate remotely-based volunteers, striving towards our common vision of equality and gender justice. The work of the New Developments branch predominantly focuses on raising awareness of women’s rights issues across the globe through: policy, legal, and open-source research; publishing well-thought and impactful articles and reports; and lobbying efforts at the international, regional, and local level. The main goal is to bring greater awareness to new developments affecting women worldwide, including new laws, policies, programs, social movements, conflicts, etc- and analysing the impact these developments have on women’s rights both directly and indirectly. We aim to not only educate the international community on the status of women’s rights, but also to empower and support those women who wish to make important and sustainable changes within their communities.
