Reporting to:
Country Representative (1st Supervisor), Regional Manager (2nd Supervisor)

Main objective: The Project Manager will manage the project “E2COM Cabo Delgado – Energia para o Empoderamento COmunitário das Mulheres” financed by AICS on local development and empowerment of women through access to energy in Cabo Delgado. The PM will also ensure the implementation of the Project according to the Donor’s needs and in line with AVSI’s mission and method. He/she will work with AVSI staff at all levels according to the leadership approach that keeps the person at the centre, either with the beneficiary, the donor, AVSI staff and partners, ensuring mutual trust relationship and high professionalism. She/he will collaborate proactively with all functions/department at local and headquarters level.

Main tasks and responsibilities:

  • Management and coordination of project activities;
  • Supervision and verification of administrative and procurement procedures;
  • Coordination of activities being aligned with the schedule defined by the chronogram;
  • Drafting, reviewing and updating of technical documents such as: TdRs, Financing Proposals, General Operational Plans etc;
  • Development of relations with local partners and all stakeholders involved in the project (institutions, donor, community);
  • Preparation of interim and final reports, narrative and accounting of the project;
  • Verification of the correctness of the administrative reporting of the project expenses of the coordination of project executive staff;
  • Coordination of monitoring activities.

Essential requirements:

  • Master’s degree awarded no more than 15 years ago in Engineering, Economics, Development Cooperation, International Relations;
  • At least 5 years of experience in managing international cooperation projects in developing countries in the areas of energy access, gender equality or rural development

Additional requirements (optional):
Previous work experience in international cooperation in Africa or Mozambique

Required skills and experiences:

  • IT skills: Excellent knowledge of the main Microsoft Office tools, in particular Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook;
  • Languages: Good knowledge of the Portuguese language (minimum level B2) and English
