We work with governments, international development banks, including The World Bank and Inter-American Development Bank, UN agencies, NGOs and other partners in the international development and humanitarian assistance sector to help communities build resilience to natural disasters.
We are currently seeking a SOFTWARE TOOL DEVELOPMENT EXPERT for an anticipated disaster mitigation and resilience project in India. The position is contingent on award. This is a 6-month assignment. This position is envisioned to be remote, but priority will be given to consultants based in New Delhi, India.
Some of the central responsibilities of this position may include:
Responsibilities:
- Support the development of a national risk and resilience assessment framework by developing a standard assessment tool and architecture to establish a virtual GIS-enabled Decision Support Platform with facility for hazard risk database, infrastructure database, etc.
- Compile all data collected under the study (including assets, exposure data, hazard data, cost/ financial data, etc.) and load onto the Decision Support Platform, so risk and resilience assessment and decision support can be made on the platform for both spatial and temporal scales.
- Decision platform created must be user-friendly, with the ability to be shared widely amongst various stakeholders for development planning, asset management, maintenance planning, etc.
- Test and pilot the online platform with the team and various stakeholders to ensure its functionality.
- Develop a maintenance guide to help stakeholders ensure platform is kept up to date and routinely maintained.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Master’s Degree in Civil engineering, IT or Computer Science.
- Minimum 10 years of experience in roles that match responsibilities above.
