We are currently seeking qualified candidates for the position of: Deputy Chief of Party in Mexico.**

Project Description:

FHI 360 seeks a Deputy Chief of Party (DCOP) for a USAID civil society strengthening program in Mexico. Through the Resilient Civil Society Activity (RSA), USAID/Mexico will strengthen civil society organizations’ (CSOs) ability to develop and apply evidence-based solutions to priority development challenges. The activity will develop CSOs’ organizational and technical capacity to advance evidence-based solutions and network more effectively with allies and partners, providing opportunities for engagement and collaboration with other stakeholders. RSA is expected to be a crosscutting activity that will support CSOs working on USAID/Mexico’s strategic priorities in crime and violence prevention, justice, human rights, transparency, and sustainable landscapes.

Job Responsibilities:

The Deputy Chief of Party will provide technical leadership and administrative support and expertise to the program, serve as lead in the absence of the Chief of Party, and serve as a liaison with USAID/Mexico, other implementing partners, other donors, and any other key stakeholders

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or its international equivalent – in Law, Social Work, Criminal or Juvenile Justice, Public or Business Administration, Community Development, or related field; a graduate degree is desirable;

  • Must have at least five (5) years of prior experience managing staff and small grants, and eight (8) years of experience supporting civil society strengthening and/or capacity building projects;

  • Knowledge of USAID policies and procedures;

  • Knowledge of human resources (HR) practices, budget management, and project administration;

  • Experience working with Mexican CSOs on crime and violence prevention, justice sector and human rights topics highly desirable.

  • Prior experience working in multi-sector networks, including civil society, Intermediate Support Organizations (ISOs), the private sector, government officials, municipal authorities, and other donors highly desirable.

  • Fluent written and verbal communication in Spanish and English required.
