Duty station: Gaziantep, Turkey

Length of Contract: 6 Months

Al Ameen, short for Al-Ameen for Humanitarian Support is a non-profit, non-governmental organization working throughout Syria and the border regions. Al-Ameen registered in Turkey in 2015 and currently works in four sectors, including Education, Medical, WASH, and Food Security and Livelihoods. Al-Ameen has not only focused on managing development projects, but also adds an advocacy component to empower Syrian civil society and local governance to all its projects. We expect our staff at Al-Ameen to be proactive, hard workers and team players.

Description of Position

The Finance Officer (FO) will assist the Finance Director in completing the work of the Finance Unit. The Finance Officers will also be appointed to specific projects, in order to ensure all Al-Ameen projects are covered from a financial standpoint.

Organizational Responsibilities

• The FO will feed bills and financial documents to the accounting software of the Organization.
• The FO will prepare reports upon finance manager’s request.
• The FO will archive and save financial documents under the supervision of the finance manager.
• The FO will prepare monthly payrolls through coordination with HR Department.
• The FO will prepare and issue the Organization’s financial documents under the supervision of the Finance Director.
• The FO will execute outlay/expenditure order approved by the finance manager and/or the CEO.

Qualifications

The potential FO must meet the following qualifications.

• A Bachelor’s Degree in Economics, Accounting, or Finance
• Excellent understanding of financial systems and procedures
• Fluency in written and spoken Arabic and English is highly desired.
• At least two years of experience in finance management, one of which is in the non-profit sector; more experience of finance in the non-profit sector is highly desired.
• Strong management and organization skills
• Experience with Audit requirements and financial systems.
