Background
Turquoise Mountain is a non-profit, non-governmental organization specializing in urban regeneration, business development, and education in traditional arts and architecture. We seek to provide jobs, skills, and a renewed sense of pride in communities, through heritage.
Context
Turquoise Mountain established a project in Jordan to support artisans and to promote involvement with heritage. The project will work across high-end craft production for international markets, vocational training in traditional skills, and cultural heritage outreach.
Turquoise Mountain is seeking to hire a passionate communications officer (with 3 to 5 years’ experience) to run their showroom communications and engage with a local and foreign audience in both Arabic and English.
Roles and Responsibilities
• Plan and manage the promotion of the showroom, products and craft portfolio through written and visual content, using a clear and concise narrative on Turquoise Mountain Jordan social media channels.
• Produce content (visual and text) for showroom newsletter.
• Create marketing material for showrooms including brochures and flyers following the Turquoise Mountain brand guidelines.
• Managing monthly product photography with an external consultant
• Develop directions for monthly photoshoots in coordination with a team.
• Manage the Turquoise Mountain webstore (visuals and text)
• Develop product presentations.
• Approach and manage local and international media regarding TM’s work in Jordan and its involvement in the craft sector.
Qualifications
● Experience with visual content creation and management of social media channels,
● Excellent oral and written communications skills in both Arabic and English,
● Command of InDesign, Illustrator and Photoshop is a plus,
● Experience working in the art and culture sector,
● Experience working in a non-profit environment is desirable.
More Information
• Contract type: Full time contract (Sunday to Thursday) with two months’ probation period
• Base: Amman
• Reports to: Design, Production and Sales Manager
• Salary: 900 JOD / month (gross)
