The primary focus of this position is the management and maintenance of the global Human Resource Information System (HRIS), Workday, in addition to other systems supported by the HRIS team. This role will be a manager of systems and is expected to be the key contact in the organization for all HR technology and collaborate with internal partners across all functions (HR, IT, Finance, etc.) to maintain and develop processes that will result in an outstanding HRIS platform.

This individual serves as a technical point-of-contact for day-to-day system support, data analysis, reporting, interfacing with users, research and evaluation of new solutions, implementation and configuration of the HRIS system and system training. This individual is responsible for overseeing the data integrity process, testing of system changes, and analyzing data flows for process improvement opportunities. This is a critical, highly visible role with the charter to bring the firm’s HR system up to date through the use of new technology and interfaces with other MSH systems.

Specific Responsibilities

System Management (45%)

  • Proactively evaluate, analyse and recommend solutions to system revision requests and streamlining of HR processes, then project manages ongoing process improvements and operational projects including release strategy, testing, training, and roll-out.

  • Solution design and development, product delivery and post-production migration support of functional modifications and enhancements to Workday and other HR systems/tools.

  • Serve as a Workday SME; actively participate in Workday Releases and staying ahead of new features/functionality being introduced by Workday.

  • Responsible for the business configuration and maintenance of the Workday HR System supporting internal employees as well as other downstream systems and processes.

  • Interviews users to identify evolving business needs and develop and implement best practices globally.

Data Management (25%)

  • Manages training HR staff in country offices for HR related tasks/changes in Workday.

  • Manages/creates internal HR procedures, workflows and process flows in conjunction with other HR areas and configures Workday modules as needed.

  • Responsible for overseeing data integrity processes and presenting data certification results to the HR and Sr. Leadership teams.

Reporting (15%)

  • Provides HR business analytics support by defining business metrics, creating data models, reports and dashboards that are scalable and provide output that is user friendly.

  • Creates complex reports as requested and researches and builds reports for automated distribution based on business needs. Will train other HR systems users to generate their own reports based on assessed business needs and requests.

  • Manages and completes annual compliance related reporting such as EEO, Affirmative Action and VETS filings.

Employee Support and Training (15%)

  • Manages Employee and Manager Self- Service functions and features within the HRIS system.

  • Develops user procedures, guidelines and documentation. Provides technical advice that enables a customer to solve a problem or improve business processes.

  • Supports the users day-to-day by answering questions and resolving issues that they are having when using our HR applications.

  • Creates and presents training as required (may be virtual, one-on-one or classroom format) on HR systems and processes.

Education

Advanced Degree in Business, Human Resources or related discipline or equivalent experience.

Experience

  • At least seven years of related experience working with Human Resources and/or HR information systems.

  • 3 – 5 years of implementation, maintenance and/or configuration experience with Workday (including HCM, Compensation, Learning, and Recruiting and Talent Management modules)

  • Experience in a diverse, international multi-location environment.

  • Proven project management experience.

  • Experience with USAID and other donor agencies is desirable.

Knowledge and Skills

  • Proficient in creating spreadsheets and reports using both Workday Reports and Microsoft Excel.

  • Highly analytical mindset with strong ability to identify, troubleshoot and resolve system issues.

  • Organized, with strong time task management skills and ability to prioritize multiple tasks.

  • Knowledgeable in HR business process and creating workflows.

  • Knowledge in system configuration and system module implementations

  • Knowledge and understanding of HRMS database design, structure, functions and processes and database tools.

  • Excellent communication skills (written & verbal; informal & formal) with all levels of employees and management.

  • Excellent Project Management, presentation, training/coaching skills.

  • Excellent interpersonal skills, sound judgment, communication skills, training experience, ability to identify and resolve policy and operational constraints.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication and presentation skills in English.
