The Business Development (BD) Associate provide will essential administrative support to advance Business Development efforts through all phases, including positioning, glimmer, capture, prep, and post-submission. While the position reports to the VP, Business Development, the Business Development (BD) Associate will also work under the direction of the VP, Strategic Planning and Partnerships on a matrix-reporting basis.

Responsibilities

Business Development Support: Proactively search for and distribute solicitations, notices, and other client communications to correct audiences immediately. Administer Go/No Go process. Find, collate, and distribute articles in the BD Weekly Digest. Draft and coordinate ACDI/VOCA proposal win announcements. Conduct basic proposal site maintenance, e.g., updating stages, filing proposal receipt confirmations, adding folders according to template. Conduct basic resource center maintenance, e.g., updating files with new versions received from authors, publishing files to existing structure. Conduct basic proposal Teams/group tasks, e.g., adding members, adding OneNote according to template, adding Teams files to Proposal Site library. Assist in copy editing various documents, both internal and deliverables to clients, as requested. Contribute to good communication of BD efforts across the organization, including publishing appropriate information. Provide remote meeting technology support, helping meeting facilitator use features such as breakout rooms, and polls to enhance effectiveness of remote meetings.

Subrecipient Process Support: Send subrecipient questionnaire for each potential partner. Ensure that all required documents have been received by A/V. File documents to appropriate proposal drive, update status sheet; prompt action when required. Conduct initial review of subrecipient questionnaire responses to ensure all questions are answered. Run restricted party searches and file results. Run SAM report and file results. Initial draft of personnel waivers when required.

CRM Support for BD Strategy: Desk research to compile/maintain market and competitive intelligence, including updates to annual strategy and Where’s the Money tool. Research and data entry to develop and maintain account (client and partner) and contact profiles and positioning strategies. Assist with CRM, PowerBI and “Where’s the Money tool” data entry, cleaning, integration, and system testing.

Strategic Planning & Partnership efforts: Research and outreach to help identify and set up appropriate meetings, speaking engagements, etc. Maintain logistics and procurement support for external meetings, events , etc. to raise visibility and/or build partnerships. Assist with development of expressions of interest, corporate capability statements and proposal responses to new clients and partners as assigned. Other tasks as assigned (occasional procurement needs, note taking at key meetings, ad-hoc research to support board meetings or other growth/partnership related requests from other divisions, etc.)

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in international development, agriculture, financial, economics or a related field; Master’s degree preferred. Minimum of 2 years of experience in international development required, including 1 year of administrative experience; USAID/USDA experience strongly preferred. Proven organizational skills, with the ability to undertake multiple tasks under tight deadlines. Skills in CRM, Power BI, SharePoint, Adobe Professional and associated products strongly preferred. Demonstrated skill in oral, written, and reading comprehension abilities. Strong editing and writing skills, including knowledge of grammar rules and Chicago Manual of Style. Proven ability to work successfully as part of a team, as well as independently. Demonstrated versatility and integrity. Fluency in English; professional proficiency in French or Spanish is desirable but not required.
