As of 2017, Diakonia established its flagship International Humanitarian Law Centre which works on Israel/Palestine, Syria (and Region) and Mali, as well as selected global initiatives. The Diakonia International Humanitarian Law Centre engages in the global promotion for the respect of international humanitarian law (IHL). The Centre believe that through promoting respect of basic legal standards in the most challenging of circumstances it can contribute to generating an environment where people and their communities can eventually live side by side, in peace and with their basic rights fully respected.
In order to support the ongoing activities and projects across the Centre throughout the strategic period, the Centre is looking to enhance the expert legal support through the creation of an expert roster. This specific type of support needed will be dependent on the needs of the Desks. Therefore, both specific contextual experience, and/or thematic experts are invited to apply.
The roster will be updated and renewed on an annual basis.
