Tearfund is hiring a Country Director to lead our programme in Central African Republic.

Do you want to use your skills to truly make a difference, by putting your faith into action? Are you able to bring together your humanitarian principles and your insights into development?

Tearfund is a UK based, Christian NGO working in over 45 of the poorest countries around the world, to lift people out of poverty, partnering with local churches wherever possible. Tearfund’s corporate priorities centre on Economic and Environmental Sustainability, Fragile States and Church and Community Transformation. Key to our success are our values and characteristics, and the dedication and professionalism of Tearfund staff and partners in the countries we work.

Tearfund has been working in CAR for many years. For this challenging environment we are looking for an authentic leader of a team of about 100 staff working on a diverse portfolio of developmental and humanitarian projects, including a flagship project funded by UK Aid Match to lift 10,000 women out of poverty through improving their businesses and changing the status of women in society.

To be successful in this role, you will have experience leading humanitarian as well as development projects and understand the nexus between them well. You like building capacity of partner organisations and have been actively promoting the localisation agenda. You are also an excellent fundraiser with a proven track record of increasing the funding base of organisations you have worked for before. Your French and English language skills are both excellent, and preferably you have a working knowledge of Sangho and you will be able to live out Tearfund’s Christian beliefs and promote a team culture honouring Tearfund’s values.

If the above describes you, have a look at the Job Description on our website and do apply, specifically addressing in your application form the requirements mentioned above.

Tearfund values diversity and inclusion, and this will be considered during the interview process. CAR nationals with the required international experience are encouraged to apply.
