Context:
Lighthouse Relief (LHR) is a non-religious, non-political, non-profit humanitarian organization with the mission of providing immediate crisis response, as well as long term relief, for the most vulnerable groups in a dignified, respectful and empowering manner.
LHR has been active in Ritsona Refugee Long Term Accommodation Center since 2016, providing psychosocial support through different programs. Ritsona LTAC is a refugee camp near Chalkida, 60km north-east of Athens, Greece, that currently hosts approximately 3000 asylum seekers and refugees, 45% of whom are minors.
LHR has been able to carry out programming thanks to the support of dedicated Resident Volunteers from the community. LHR’s Resident Volunteering Program (RVP) aims to promote an inclusive community environment, foster healthy coping strategies, and provide capacity building opportunities for the community by recognising, utilising and helping the residents further develop their skills. Resident Volunteers are currently involved in targeted trainings and workshops, and regularly support LHR’s Youth Engagement Space (YES), Child Friendly Space (CFS) and Sport Program (SP).
The candidate will manage the implementation and development of LHR Resident Volunteer Programme (RVP), which provides young residents of Ritsona the opportunity to volunteer in LHR’s CFS, YES and SP, while promoting a culture of mutual learning, peer support, respect and inclusiveness.
Key responsibilities:

Manage the development and implementation of LHR Resident Volunteer Program in close coordination with LHR programme managers;

Design training materials and deliver training sessions for the Resident Volunteers (RVs);

Identify and refer protection needs and concerns in close collaboration with the LHR staff team and other camp actors;

Develop and implement regular team-building activities for RVs;

Develop and implement regular activities (remote and on-site) that foster healthy and positive copings skills among RVs;

Deliver targeted psychosocial support to RVs and coordinate the response to mental health crises involving RVs;

Ensure Monitoring and Evaluation of quantitative and qualitative program results, including development of data collection and monitoring tools;

Conduct direct observation of RVs’ engagement in other programs and schedule individual check-ins and group meetings for RVs to gather feedback and provide support;

Manage the program monthly budget and financial reporting;

Assist the CFS, YES and SP teams during programming hours by leading sports, arts and crafts and freeplay activities alongside with RVs as needed;

Be a positive role model for RVs engaging and working with and for members of their own communities;

Implement an open and trustful working relationship and communication with RVs, while ensuring respect of Code of Conduct and safety and security guidelines;

Liaise and communicate with Programme Managers and Field Coordinator for feedback from the community;

Identify further development opportunities for RVs with outside actors.

QUALIFICATIONS
REQUIRED

Degree in international Education, Social Work, Child Development, Psychology, or related field;

Fluency in English, both written and spoken

Previous experience working with youth from various backgrounds;

Previous experience working with refugees, forcibly displaced persons, or at-risk youth;
-
Previous experience in developing and delivering trainings;
-
Previous experience in Monitoring and Evaluation and reporting;
-
Ability to work under pressure in a volatile, stressful environment;
-
Cross-cultural awareness, ability to adapt to a multicultural context and work cross-linguistically;
-
Strong organizational skills and efficiency;
-
Excellent interpersonal, writing & communications skills;
-
Excellent understanding of and ability to maintain appropriate boundaries with youth and program participants;
-
Working knowledge of Microsoft Office and Google Drive programs;
-
EU citizenship or valid Schengen work permit
Desired
-
Knowledge and experience implementing International Standards in Humanitarian Action (such as Sphere and the Child Protection Minimum Standards);

Knowledge of one of the following languages is a distinct advantage: Arabic, Farsi, French, Kurdish;

Previous working experience in NGO or INGO;

Previous experience in conflict mediation and resolution;

Greek language skills are an advantage;

Candidates with Greek residence have an advantage;

Driving license.
