Main purpose of job:
The SLO is responsible for pre-deployment planning and liaison between the British High Commission and host nation security agencies/personnel within and outside of Lahore and south Punjab. When deployed with a visit, he will accompany to ensure appropriate security measures are in place and will maintain a constant liaison with the LEA’s. The SLO will require to work on flexible/extended hours to cover any events/field visits. This can be compensated with TOIL, where applicable.
- Supporting and assisting the Security Liaison Officers visiting Lahore and those utilizing Lahore as a forward operating base.
- Briefing of new staff in Lahore and where required the staff visiting Lahore.
- Cover DSSM Lahore when he is away on duty or leave.

Roles and responsibilities that a jobholder will be expected to achieve:
- Be prepared to make decisions to ensure the safety and security of official staff within the context of your liaison duties
- Responsible for updating all visiting staff / Lahore team through security alerts
- Assist in gathering BHC/BC passes for the Lahore Team and staff visiting from Islamabad.
- Responsible for maintaining the event and travel Data base & any maintenance/upgradation required on the software/systems.
- Facilitate/Assist staff in arranging Wagah protocol request.
- Supporting the BHC Lahore Office with up to 10% corporate duties as agreed by LM/Head of Office.
- Prepare and deliver security briefs for staff working and operating in Lahore.
- Accompany UK Based and LE staff on official visits out of Lahore and selected locations inside Lahore.
- Conduct liaison for the visits to different cities of Pakistan and compile briefings about key features at each location.
- Liaise with internal and external partners to ensure appropriate security arrangements are made for out of Lahore deployments.
- Check all routes/ Weather and Communication Plan against the Travel Risk Assessment (TRA) and No Objection Certificate (NOC) prior to the visit.
- Conduct a briefing for drivers and officials prior to the commencement of any official visit.
- Carry out reconnaissance of the location to be visited where required.
- Ensure that all visit support equipment is issued and functional.
- To deal with host nation intelligence agencies who present themselves at the various venues/ meetings or otherwise attempt to contact staff during the field visit.
- Prepare detailed post visit reports after each visit and log them in shared area for the future references. Also advise; the CSA, SSM and STA of any concerns or issues for travel etc.
- Ensure full compliance with British High Commission standing operating procedures (SOPs).
- Provide complete details to the Control Room regarding staff before departure for the visit and keep them informed throughout the whole visit.
- Submit daily security related news, including rallies or protests from different sources to CSA / SSM /STA / Control Room.
- Perform duties at events as required e.g.: KBP and other Major events
- Provide cover to DSSM Lahore while he is on leave.
- Any other duty as directed by the DSSM Lahore, CSA / SSM or PSO.
- Conducting out of hours checks on the guard force and recc’s/location assessments /visits/overnights out of Lahore.

Essential on arrival:
- Previous experience working for a disciplined organisation, armed services, police or at least 5 years’ experience in liaison and security management working
- Experience of working in Lahore will be essential.

For BHC candidates, the Country Based Staff BHC Terms & Conditions will apply.
For other than BHC candidates the basic salary will be PKR 198,669 per month. This salary is non-negotiable.

Additionally, The British High Commission contributes to a retirement provision in the form of a mandatory provident fund.
