Main Purpose of Job:
This is an exciting new role within the British High Commission’s Communications Team, who lead on all communication, media, and public diplomacy activities. You provide communications support across the team of five, with particular focus on digital content production, internal communications coordination, and campaign delivery assistance. You will support the Digital Manager in developing engaging content for BHC social media channels and producing evaluation and monitoring reports. You will coordinate internal communications activities that keep BHC staff informed and engaged. You will also assist in coordinating event and social media calendars, and other corporate tasks as required.
Roles and responsibilities / what will the jobholder be expected to achieve:
Digital Content Production Support (50%)
- Support the Digital Manager in developing and producing high-quality creative digital communications products including video, graphics, photography and short-form content for BHC social media channels and digital campaigns.
- Assist with content capture at events, visits and activities, including basic photography and video recording under the Digital Manager’s direction.
- Support preparation of digital content for publication, ensuring it meets brand guidelines and accessibility standards
Monitoring, Evaluation and Reporting (20%)
- Produce monthly evaluation reports on digital channel performance, analysing metrics and identifying trends to inform communications planning
- Compile media monitoring reports on coverage of BHC activities and UK-related stories in Singapore media
- Support the team in tracking and recording campaign outputs and outcomes
- Assist in gathering data and evidence for campaign evaluations
Campaign and Event Support (20%)
- Provide administrative and logistical support to communications campaigns, including coordinating stakeholder communications, managing RSVPs, and maintaining contact databases
- Assist with planning and delivery of communications elements for BHC events and visits
- Support the wider communications team with research, drafting of communications materials, and other tasks as required
- Help ensure effective cross-team working by coordinating communications activity calendars and sharing relevant information across the team
Internal Communications Coordination (10%)
- Compile and produce the BHC’s weekly internal newsletter
- Support planning and coordination of the monthly All Staff Meeting
- Maintain internal communications channels and ensure consistency of messaging and branding

Working patterns:
Normal working hours are 37.5 per week: 8:30AM to 5:00PM from Monday to Friday. The team operates a ‘core hours’ policy of 10:30AM to 2:30PM with individual flexibility around that.
Terms of service:
- Staff recruited locally by the British High Commission are subject to terms and conditions of service according to local Singapore employment law.
- Employment offers are subject to successful clearance of pre-employment checks. Only short-listed applications will be called for personal interviews.
