Chocorua Lake Conservancy


Chocorua Lake Conservancy (CLC) is seeking a half-term AmeriCorps member from May 18 to October 28, 2026, to serve as Land Steward.

The Land Steward will assist with the annual monitoring of private properties in the Chocorua Lake Basin protected by conservation agreements, the management of CLC’s conserved (fee-owned) properties, and with data collection, education programs, and outreach.

The Land Steward will gain a comprehensive understanding of the role conservation restrictions play in protecting natural resources, the importance of a robust stewardship program, best practices for easement monitoring, and the management of conservation land.

Over 150,000 people visit Chocorua Lake each year to photograph, picnic, swim, paddle, and fish. CLC manages three lake access areas, 17 conservation properties, and 24 trails on Mount Chocorua and conservation land.
