Main purpose of job:
To assist with hospitality operations for the British High Commissioner.
Roles and responsibilities:
Duties include but are not limited to:
- Lead set up and service for official residence events such as breakfasts, lunches, dinners, coffee engagements and cocktail receptions. Includes setting formal dining tables, moving furniture, and alcohol and table service.
- Leading small events alone in other representational properties such as dinners and lunches.
- Assisting with events in the office building, including panels, lunches, cocktail receptions and coffees.
- Lead on the general care of residence equipment. Examples include but are not limited to, houseplant maintenance, keep inventories, clean and maintain equipment for the residence, and making sure staff have cleaning supplies required.
- Larger projects are required during less busy times, examples include cleaning carpets, storage organization, polishing silverware and dusting chandeliers.
- Assist with cleaning and event operations for corporate services team when required. Including but not limited to, cleaning kitchens, bathrooms and other areas, set up and tear down.
- Assisting other staff where required including cleaning other areas of the house, helping chef with service or other activities as requested by line manager or High Commissioner.

- Must be physically fit as the job involves heavy lifting and working on feet.

Working patterns:
If the job is suitable for flexible working patterns, please provide details:
37.5 hours per week. Working hours may be adjusted based on event requirements. Working from home in this role is not permitted.
Other information:
- Having own vehicle is necessary, mileage between properties is provided.
- Will be required to work overtime during busy periods.
