Who are we? The British Embassy in Paris is part of a worldwide network, representing British political, economic and consular interests overseas and is currently recruiting a Residence Support Officer. Main purpose of the role: The Residence Support Officer provides essential administrative, logistical, financial, and operational support to the Ambassador’s Residence Team. The role supports the Residence Events Officer, Deputy Residence Manager, and Residence Manager in delivering a high volume of high-profile events, coordinating houseguests, maintaining accurate Residence data and records, and ensuring financial and administrative compliance.

Our Ideal Candidate shows:
- fluency in written and spoken French and English (C1 level according to CEFR*)
- More than 2 years’ experience in an Executive Assistant Role
- Excellent organisational and administrative skills; strong attention to detail.
- Proven ability to manage shifting priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Prior budget management or financial administration experience.
- Strong communication skills with senior stakeholders; high discretion and professionalism.
- Proficiency in Microsoft 365 (Excel, Teams, Outlook, Word, SharePoint).
- Ability and willingness to work on-site only; remote working is not compatible with Residence operational needs.
- Capacity to work flexibly, including evenings and occasional weekends, during busy operational periods.

This is a full time permanent contract. The position is based on a 35/h week. The monthly salary is 3,872 € (gross). In addition, staff receive meal contribution.
All appointments are subject to professional background check satisfactory security clearance. The successful applicant will be required to provide a copy of his/her passport or national identity card for all nationalities held, an up-to-date criminal record (casier judiciaire) for recent countries of residence (which can be obtained online at https://www.cjn.justice.gouv.fr/cjn/b3/eje20), two written proofs of address (utility invoices and/or bank statements) and two references.

Working Pattern: The position is based on a 35 hour working week.
Flexibility with working hours (evenings, weekends, public holidays).
Because of the in-person nature of Residence operations and events, the role cannot be performed remotely.
