Naturalist and Sea Kayak Guide and Retail sales

North Shore Adventures and Outdoor Center (NSAOC) is hiring kayakers and outdoor ocean lovers for this summer season! Are you looking for a fun, active, outdoor job on the ocean? We are looking to hire several kayak guides and/or land based team members for this Summer season.  Ideally our guides will come with at least some experience ocean kayaking, be fun, outgoing and engaging.

Responsibilities: 

• Helping customers get suited up, trained, and answer questions about the equipment, where to go, and any other concerns for the customer. 
• Providing safety briefing/talk to customers 
• Loading and unloading of boats off boat trailers, paddling watercraft to the beach, and showing clients basic paddling technique. 
• Be aware of hazards on the waterfront and emergency response protocols. 
• Some time may include indoor work such as using a cash register, taking phone reservations, organizing inventory, and retail sales.
• Be willing and excited to learn about some of the local ecology, history, and other fun facts to educate customers with
• Lead tour groups for 2-4 hr paddles around Rockport, and the islands (must be 18 to guide)
• If groups/individuals need assistance paddle out and help them

Requirements: 

• Be polite, responsible, friendly, hard-working, and able to lift 50 pounds
• CPR and First Aid certification is required
• Have some kayaking experience (paid training is included)
• Be a good team member, flexible, adaptable, and go above and beyond to do what needs to be done
