The British Embassy in Copenhagen is part of a worldwide network representing the UK’s political, economic and consular interests overseas. We are currently recruiting a student to join our Political and Communications Team. This is an exciting opportunity to gain first‑hand exposure to diplomacy and to support the Embassy’s work at the heart of the UK–Denmark bilateral relationship.
As an intern, you will be a valued member of the team, contributing to political reporting, communications activity and events that promote the UK’s interests, values and culture in Denmark.
What you will do:
The internship offers a varied and rewarding role. You will:
- Support political reporting on a range of topical domestic and international issues.
- Assist with policy research and briefing, contributing to internal analysis and reporting.
- Help plan and deliver high‑level visits, meetings and events, including practical and administrative support.
- Contribute to the Embassy’s external communications, including digital and social media content planning.
- Support the day‑to‑day running of communications and public diplomacy activities.
- Undertake general administrative tasks that support the effective functioning of the Political Team.

Our ideal candidate is:
-
Fluent in English and one Scandinavian language ( Danish, Swedish or Norwegian) at a C1 level, and a minimum of B1/B2 level in Danish according to CEFR* or equivalent
- A student of Political Science, International Relations, Law, Economics, Communications
- Someone with a strong interest in politics and/or communications,
- Excellent at interpersonal skills and a strong team player
- Able to manage multiple workstreams.
- A student who must be enrolled in university and remain studying for the entire duration of the internship period
