The British Embassy in Copenhagen is part of a world-wide network representing UK’s political, economic and consular interests overseas. We are currently recruiting a student to join our Department for Business and Trade (DBT) Team.

About the Role:
As an intern, you will be a valued member of the team. You will work alongside experienced trade and investment professionals who support UK companies looking to export and grow in the Danish market and International businesses seeking to establish and expand their presence in the UK.
Looking ahead, planned projects for 2026–2027 will give the successful candidate the chance to work across several high‑priority sectors, offering broad experience and meaningful professional development.
What you will do:
During the internship, you will gain insight into and actively contribute to a wide range of trade & investment activities, including:
- Conducting Market Research and supporting business development activities
- Mapping priority sectors and commercial opportunities
- Responding to business enquiries
- Supporting event delivery and projects
- Assisting with stakeholder engagement across the public & private sector
We are looking for someone who is:
- Interested in international Business & Trade
- Organised, reliable and comfortable working on multiple tasks
- Confident communicating in a professional environment
- Proactive, able to work independently while contributing as part of a team

Our ideal candidate shows:
- Full professional proficiency in English written and spoken C1 level for the CEFR framework*

Currently enrolled in a relevant course of study (e.g. international business, economics, international relations or a related field) and remaining enrolled for the full duration of the internship.
- A proactive, self‑motivated and ambitious student with a genuine interest in business, trade and international markets.
- Demonstrates strong interpersonal skills and the ability to engage confidently with a range of stakeholders.
- Comfortable working in a fast‑paced, changing environment, with a high level of adaptability and initiative.
