Main Purpose of Job:
The British Embassy Jakarta is part of a global network of approximately 270 Posts, representing the UK’s political, defence, economic, trade, and consular interests in Indonesia. Meanwhile, the UK Mission to ASEAN works to strengthen the UK’s engagement with ASEAN, building on existing partnerships and exploring new avenues for collaboration with the organisation and its member states.
The Corporate Services Team (CST) supports both the UK’s bilateral Embassy to Indonesia and the UK Mission to ASEAN. We are seeking a dynamic Corporate Services Officer to deliver and manage our day-to-day operations across Estates, Health & Safety, and Procurement functions.
The Corporate Services Officer (Estates and Health & Safety) plays a key role in providing a wide range of first-level, high quality support and customer service across the Embassy. The role focuses on Estates, Health & Safety, and Procurement, working closely with the Estates and Health & Safety Manager to manage estate related matters, procurement processes, inventory control, and Health & Safety activities for Indonesia network. The job holder will collaborate closely with internal teams, external stakeholders, and service providers to ensure smooth operational delivery and uphold organisational standards and regulatory requirements.
What the Jobholder will be Expected to Achieve:
Estates:
- Support the Estates and Health & Safety Manager in delivering estate-related activities, projects, and initiatives.
- Lead on estates-related and general-purpose procurement, ensuring compliance with organisational policies and procedures.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of estate inventories and assets.
- Work closely with the Facilities Management (FM) service provider to ensure the effective day-to-day operation and maintenance of estate services.
- Any other duties as required in the scope of Estates and Procurement.
Health, Safety, Wellbeing (HSW):
- Assist in Health & Safety documentations.
- Assist on HSW activities for the network by engaging with the relevant parties including FM service provider, suppliers and other contractors to ensure required standards are met.
- Assist with network sustainability plans (i.e. “greening the office”) to meet global targets.
- Any other duties as required in the scope of Health, Safety & Wellbeing.

- Tertiary degree from recognised university
- Related working experience for a min of 2 years. A prior experience in FM/Estates, Inventory or Procurement would be an advantage
- Experience in collaborating with stakeholders from different sections, background and multicultural environments
- Client facing management experience
- Proactive, meticulous, ability to prioritise, analytical, good administrative skills and multitasking
- Self-starter, ability to work with minimum supervision
- Language requirement: Bahasa Indonesia and English (Proficient)

This role is advertised as full-time, fixed term maternity cover contract until 24 December 2026.

Working Patterns:
Normal working hours are 39.5 (gross) per week: 07:30hrs to 16:00hrs from Monday to Thursday and 07:30hrs to 13:00hrs. At present, all staff working in the FCDO, Jakarta are expected to attend the office for three days per week, subject to change. Subject to operational demands and line manager approval, the team operates a ‘core hours’ policy of 09:00 to 15:00 with individual flexibility around that and two days of work from home per week on request.
No accommodation or relocation expenses are payable in connection with this position. All candidates must be legally able to work and reside in Indonesia with the correct visa/work permit status or demonstrate eligibility to obtain the relevant permit. Any costs related to obtaining or renewing permits and visas are the responsibility of the successful applicant.
Employment offers are subject to successful clearance of pre-employment checks. Staff recruited locally by the British Embassy Jakarta is subject to Terms and Conditions of Service according to local employment law. In relation to this, the successful candidate will need to arrange for his/her own Police Certificate. Employees who are not liable to pay local income tax on their Mission salary may have their salaries reduced by the equivalent local income tax amount.
Hiring managers should be available to discuss proposed working patterns with potential candidates, and respond positively where possible, in line with the flexible working policy.
The FCDO also operates an agile workforce. To facilitate this, you may be required to undertake other duties from time to time as we may reasonably require.
