The Senior Program Manager, Autism Services ensures adults with disabilities or special needs in Hawaii have equal opportunity to contribute to and benefit from their communities. This role is responsible for operating a self-sustaining, scalable, person-first program that improves the well-being of its primary stakeholders—clients, families, and staff—and can quickly adapt to changing circumstances on a small or large scale.
Essential Job Functions
- Oversee day-to-day program operations in an inclusive and innovative manner that ensures high-quality care and supports team members.
- Assist in the development of and execute the annual budget.
- Meet or exceed program margin and billed hours targets.
- Understand and keep Easterseals leadership informed of program status, key activities, accomplishments and concerns, and escalate appropriately.
- Actively collaborate with leadership to create and implement strategies to improve the program and resolve issues.
- Develop and lead a high-performing team and ensure program staffing supports budget targets and program needs.
- Collaborate with FoC shared services departments to ensure successful delivery of clinical excellence-, finance-, revenue cycle-, IT-, and human resources-related services.
- Adhere to the FoC network structure organizational protocols.
- Ensure compliance, regulatory, and funder requirements are met and take action if they are not.
- Assist in the creation of and maintain the Easterseals autism services business operating system.
Qualifications
Minimum Education, Experience & Training Equivalent to:
- Bachelor’s Degree in related field from an accredited college or university preferred.
- Two or more years of related professional experience working with children with autism spectrum disorders (ASD) and/or other related developmental disabilities in a multi-disciplinary team setting.
- Two or more years” experience providing staff direction and development in a supervisory role.
- Proven experience managing multi-disciplinary teams and overseeing programs staffed by licensed, certified, or degreed professionals.
Knowledge & Skills:
- Familiar with the field of ABA, and knowledgeable about community resources and agencies that serve children.
- Familiarity with evidence-based methodologies found to benefit children diagnosed with ASD, including Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA), and Verbal Behavior (VB).
- Understanding of key operations management principles and the ability to execute on them

- Ability to synthesize, collate, and present data

- Propensity to appropriately interpret and implement policies, procedures, and regulations of the organization; training provided.
- Knowledgeable and skilled in computer/Microsoft processing software and excel. Must be able to use an iPhone or work cell phone if applicable.
- Work in an exciting, fast paced high energy environment while effectively multitasking and managing day-to-day responsibilities without supervision.
- Personable; able to work comfortably with individuals at all levels within the organization.
- Commitment to ongoing training and development as it relates to clinical skills.
- Excellent verbal and writing communication skills; frequent proofreading and checking documents for accuracy.
Physical Requirements:
- Must be able to communicate effectively within the work environment, read and write using the primary language within the workplace.
- Frequent bending, reaching, squatting, kneeling, twisting in order to observe, assess, and interact with clients.
- Ability to stand or sit for extended periods of time, stand for up to 6-8 hours a day.
- Occasional lifting, carrying, and loading/unloading toys and materials up to and including 25 lbs. to 50 lbs. used in home visits.
- Visual and auditory ability to work with clients, staff and others in the workplace continuously.
- Frequent speaking and listening (50%) to clients, staff, and other professionals in meetings and on the phone.
- Frequent driving (to and from office and client homes).
- Utilize computer and cell phone for effective communication.
- Ability to utilize computer, iPhone or landline, fax machine, and copy machine.
- Frequent proofreading and checking documents for accuracy.
CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT
- Ability to obtain and maintain criminal record clearance through the Department of Justice (DOJ). The People & Performance Department must analyze DOJ/FBI live scan reports in accordance with applicable Federal, State, and Local laws, as well as fitness for the position.
- Able to travel to multiple work sites and client homes. Reliable transportation needed.
- Must have valid Hawaii Driver’s License/insurance and maintain a clean driving record.
- Must pass health screenings, obtain vaccinations and clear TB testing based on company policies.
- Ability to obtain and maintain clearance through the Office of Inspector General.
- Must attend any required training.
