Vegetation Management Field Director

EnviroSystems Management, Inc. is seeking an experienced Vegetation Management Field Director to lead vegetation and noxious weed management projects throughout the Southwest. This is a hands‑on leadership position combining fieldwork (up to 75%), crew supervision, and project coordination.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and supervise field crews on vegetation management projects
  • Conduct herbicide applications (backpack, UTV, spot, and broadcast)
  • Perform and oversee noxious weed and vegetation surveys
  • Plan field logistics and communicate with clients
  • Maintain and repair field equipment (UTVs, ATVs, sprayers, chainsaws, trucks)
  • Lead daily safety meetings and ensure compliance with safety protocols
  • Collect, manage, and quality‑check field data, reports, and GPS/GIS products
  • Train crew members in plant ID, tool use, and project methods
  • Document field conditions with photos and reports

Qualifications

  • Degree in natural resources or related field (preferred)
  • Arizona Applicator Certification preferred (and required after start date)
  • 2+ years’ experience in weed survey, treatment, GPS, and data collection
  • Strong plant identification skills (native and invasive species)
  • Leadership experience supervising field crews
  • GIS/GPS proficiency
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel
  • Ability to travel 35%+ and work in rugged terrain
