Main purpose of job: This role will deliver a multi-year flagship economic security programme in Southeast Asia. The project is a continuation of our regional work on economic security, building on earlier pilot activity. The role will work closely with project leads, based in Singapore and Bangkok with a budget of up to £1 million per annum. The role aims to deliver to UK objectives on economic security in Southeast Asia, providing both project level delivery and strategic oversight. The role will be expected to lead on project development and management, contract management, procurement, and financial oversight. They will provide a key point of contact for economic, political and trade teams across the region. This will be a full, consistently loaded role across the FY, with some out of hour requirements, requiring dedication and resilience from the successful applicant. Nevertheless they may be able to provide some surge or other support to embassy teams, and we want to ensure they make a meaningful corporate contribution to the life of the mission.

Working patterns: Monday – Thursday 08:00 – 16:30, Friday 08:00 – 13:00 We are currently operating a hybrid working pattern with at least 60% of the time being spent in the office depending on operational needs. The Embassy has a smarter working policy and is committed to offering flexible working patterns balanced with the operational requirements of the role.
