Human Resources Assistant

Minimum age: 22 years old. Applicants must be nationals of or legal residents in the country of assignment.

Within the delegated authority and under the supervision of the HR Officer or his/her designated mandated representative(s), the UNV HR Assistant will:

  • Provide support to onboarding of new personnel, including but not limited to drafting welcome note, ensuring mandatory trainings, documents and orientation schedule are completed on time;
  • Provide support to Sr. HR Associate in updating the HR Onboarding page and LCO Who is Who;
  • Provide support in the overall filing system on ECM, focusing on the HR Public Library and mandatory documentation on confidential library with focus on Consultancy mandatory documents;
  • Provide support to the development and implementation UNICEF Lebanon’s Diversity in Recruitment strategy by conducting market research/talent sourcing;
  • Provide support to the development and implementation of UNICEF Lebanon’s Outreach Strategy, including facilitating partnerships with social media channels, universities, job fairs, career portals and partners;
  • Provide analytical and administrative support to the office’s recruitment campaigns and recruitment system (staff and consultants);
  • Provide logistical and administrative support with events’ organization i.e. meetings, workshops;
  • Provide administrative and logistical support to L&D activities i.e. data entry, filing, assisting in workshops and events logistical organization;
  • Provide communication and visual design (infographics) support to display key HR processes to staff;
  • Provide administrative and logistical support to Consultancy portfolio i.e. data updates, filing and quality assurance, assisting in recruitment process to the finalization of consultancy contract (e.g. reference check, following up on required documents with selected candidate compilation of mandatory documents);
  • Provide team management support, including taking notes in weekly meetings, updating team/task planner and following up on action items with relevant team members;
  • Any other related tasks as may be required or assigned by the supervisor;


Bachelor degree or equivalent


  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant area, e.g. business administration or area related to admin, HR, etc..


24 Months

  • At least 2 years of professional work experience at the national and/or international level in administration, or human resources, or other relevant programmes;, as is experience working in the UN or other international development organization;
  • Other desired/mandatory required technical knowledge
  • Excellent oral and written skills; excellent drafting, formulation, reporting skills;
  • Accuracy and professionalism in document production and editing;
  • Excellent interpersonal skills; culturally and socially sensitive; ability to work inclusively and collaboratively with a range of partners, including grassroots community members, religious and youth organizations, and authorities at different levels; familiarity with tools and approaches of communications for development;
  • Ability to work and adapt professionally and effectively in a challenging environment; ability to work effectively in a multicultural team of international and national personnel;
  • Solid overall computer literacy, including proficiency in various MS Office applications (Excel, Word, etc.) and email/internet; familiarity with database management; and office technology equipment;
  • Self-motivated, ability to work with minimum supervision; ability to work with tight deadlines;
  • Sound security awareness;
