Organization Mission
The Enabling Rural Opportunity Network (ERONet), formally Agoro Community Development Association (ACDA) is a community-based, women-led nonprofit organization working in Lamwo District, Northern Uganda. Since 2001, ERONet has partnered with rural communities to improve the wellbeing of women, girls and vulnerable households through girls’ education, women’s protection and dignity, sustainable livelihoods, and community resilience.
ERONet recently completed its Strategic Plan 2026–2031 following an extensive review by development practitioners, organisational development specialists and international supporters. The organisation is now seeking an experienced Online Volunteer to translate the strategic priorities into a practical and donor-ready Annual Work Plan for 2026.
The assignment will strengthen ERONet’s programme planning, fundraising readiness and implementation by producing a clear annual roadmap with measurable priorities, targets and expected results
Context
ERONet operates in Lamwo District, Northern Uganda, a post-conflict and refugee-hosting district facing significant challenges including poverty, limited educational opportunities for girls, gender inequality, climate vulnerability and livelihood insecurity.
The organisation has recently strengthened its strategic direction by focusing on three programme pillars:
Girls’ Education & Empowerment
Women and Girls’s Protection
Climate-Resilient Livelihoods & Community Resilience
The Annual Work Plan will translate these strategic priorities into realistic annual commitments that guide implementation while providing a practical document for fundraising, partnership development and organisational growth.
Key Responsibilities
The Online Volunteer will work closely with the Executive Director and programme team to develop ERONet’s 2026 Annual Work Plan.
The volunteer will:
Review ERONet’s Strategic Plan 2026–2031 and supporting organisational documents.
Identify and prioritise realistic Year One activities based on organisational capacity and available resources.
Translate strategic objectives into clear annual activities, outputs and measurable targets.
Develop an Annual Work Plan with objectives, activities, indicators, timelines, responsible persons and expected results.
Prepare a simple quarterly implementation schedule.
Recommend priority activities that are suitable for donor fundraising and partnership development.
Ensure the work plan follows good practice in results-based management and is practical for implementation by a growing community-based organisation.
Required Skills and Experience
pplicants should have experience in one or more of the following:
Strategic planning

Programme design and management
Results-Based Management (RBM)
Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning (MEL)
Logical Framework Approach (Logframe)
Organisational development
Grant proposal development
NGO programme management
Experience supporting grassroots or community-based organisations will be an added advantage.
