The World Bank’s Country Management Unit (CMU) for Ghana, Liberia and Sierra Leone (AWCW1) develops strategy, and partnerships, oversees portfolio implementation, monitors impact, and evaluates results for the Bank’s portfolio in the three countries. The CMU includes offices in Accra, Monrovia, and Freetown. It oversees a portfolio of about US$6 billion.
The AWCW1 CMU is managed by a Division Director (DD), assisted by an Operations Manager (OM), all based in the World Bank Office in Accra. The DD coordinates and oversees the AWCW1 work program. Sierra Leone is a One WBG country with a WBG Country Manager (CM) located in Freetown. The WBG CM reports to World Bank Division Director and IFC Division Director both based in Accra. The WBG CM resides and represents the World Bank Group in Sierra Leone leading the dialogue with government, private sector and other stakeholders, and manage the day-to-day operations of the WBG program.

Unit Context
The Office of the WBG Country Manager for Sierra Leone is a dynamic unit that requires professional excellence and a commitment to teamwork. As a central member of the Sierra Leone Country Team, the Administrative Client Support and Facilities Assistant will have the opportunity to contribute to the CMU’s WBG integrated core deliverables in operations and facilities management. S/he will directly report to the World Bank Group Country Manager for Sierra Leone and will work closely with the Operations Officer, ACS Team, Resource Management, Security Specialist, and Facilities Team.
Duties and Responsibilities
The selected candidate will perform the following duties:
Administrative & Client Support (ACS) for WBG Products
· • Provide integrated ACS and facilities management support across WBG.
· • Produce and manage complex documents, reports, presentations, and correspondence in line with WBG institutional formats, supporting WB lending and advisory operations, IFC investment and advisory services, and MIGA guarantee products.
· • Support the processing, tracking, and data entry of WBG products and operations across WB (IPF, DPF, PforR), IFC, and MIGA portfolios in central systems such as SAP and the Operations Portal.
· • Coordinate scheduling, logistics, and administrative support for WB, IFC, and MIGA office staff, including planning for conferences, workshops, Board presentations, and high-level missions.
· • Handle internal and external inquiries on the WBG country portfolio and maintain up-to-date distribution lists, contact directories, and project records.
WBG Office Facilities Management & Operations
· • Serve as the first point of contact for WBG office facilities issues; conduct routine maintenance rounds, manage space allocation, monitor utilities, and oversee cleaning, gardening, and building signage.
· • Support WBG office emergency preparedness, access control, and incident logging in coordination with the Country Manager, Security Specialist, and Resource Management and Security Advisor.
WBG Asset Management
· • Maintain an accurate and up-to-date WBG Asset Register, including furniture, equipment, keys, and access cards for WB, IFC, and MIGA; ensure proper tagging and reporting to BPS/GSD colleagues.
Selection Criteria
Note: Preference will be given to local talent, that is, applicants that are authorized to work in the duty station for any employer. Internal applicants may apply per existing guidelines.
• Bachelor’s degree in business administration, facilities management, public administration, or a related field.
· • Minimum of three to five years of relevant experience in administrative, operational, or facilities management roles, preferably within an international organization or development institution.
· • Familiarity with WBG institutional processes, systems, products, and procedures — including SAP and the Operations Portal — is a strong advantage.
· • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple concurrent tasks efficiently, prioritize effectively under pressure, and meet tight deadlines with minimal supervision.
· • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, with a proven track record of maintaining accurate records, inventories, and databases.
· • Sound understanding of procurement, vendor management, and financial tracking processes.
· • Experience in facilities or office management, including coordination with maintenance staff, contractors, and service providers.
· • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build effective working relationships with colleagues, vendors, and senior stakeholders across WB, IFC, and MIGA.
· • Excellent written and oral communication skills in English; proficiency in additional languages relevant to the country office is an advantage.
· • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and WBG systems and AI tools.
