Public Affairs Communications Consultant (m/f/d)

About the Role

We are looking for an experienced Public Affairs Communications Consultant to join and contribute to our growing and ambitious Brussels office. The ideal candidate has several years of experience in EU Public Affairs and strategic communications from either an agency, institutional or federation background in Brussels.

Main responsibilities

• Provide strategic advice to a range of clients and support strategy development

• Build and maintain sustainable client relationships

• Generate creative solutions that address our clients’ increasingly complex needs

• Work with client lead to deliver client projects/project manage own clients

• Lead/co-ordinate junior members of staff

• Conduct policy analysis and desk field research

• Draft communications materials, including communication plans, press releases and presentations

• Support the planning, organization and management of various events including interviews, roundtables, and press conferences

• Plan and execute social media campaigns, using data analytics to measure campaign output and online engagement

• Develop and nurture a strong network with relevant stakeholders, including key decision makers, media, industry associations and NGOs

Requirements

• In depth knowledge and experience of EU institutions and legislative processes

• Degree or equivalent in, for example, business, politics, communications

• Several years’ experience gained in a comparable professional capacity, for example communications, public affairs, politics, journalism

• Good knowledge of media relations and understanding of the digital and social media landscape

• Project management experience and an ability to work in a high-intensity environment

• Analytical, results-oriented, and able to work independently, while also leading and working closely with client teams

• Outstanding verbal and written communication skills in English

• Good command of one other major European language, additional language skills a plus
