Are you passionate about driving corporate ambition and action in order to avoid the most catastrophic effects of climate change and reach a net-zero emissions economy?

CDP is seeking a highly motivated individual to join our Commit to Action team in Hong Kong. This position is an exciting opportunity to apply campaigning skills and climate change knowledge in the context of an environmental NGO that works with many of the world’s largest multinationals.

In this role, you will support the delivery of CDP’s Commit to Action strategy in the region.

About the Commit to Action Team

The Commit to Action (CTA) Program focuses on driving the transition to a 1.5°C net-zero emissions society, by working with the world’s most influential companies on a suite of climate leadership initiatives such as the Science Based Targets initiative and its flagship campaign Business Ambition for 1.5°C. Other leadership initiatives include RE100.

This role will jointly report to Associate Director, CTA and Director, CDP Hong Kong.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Developing and implementing a regional strategy for corporate engagement on the Science Based Targets Initiative and the Business Ambition for 1.5°C campaign to deliver on the global strategy;
  • Working closely with the Commit to Action Associate Director in the coordination of the campaign, particularly in the management of relationships with key internal and external stakeholders, including with commitment/ initiative partners, regional partners and collaborators, industry groups, and consumer groups to advance CDP and CTA’s corporate engagement strategy and goals;
  • Coordinate closely with key CDP Hong Kong colleagues in CDP Corporates and Supply Chains teams and contribute to the development of key engagement materials for use by the global CDP Corporate Engagement team;
  • Supporting the Commit to Action team’s work with other departments, especially CDP’s communications team on initiatives and campaign-related communications and marketing efforts;
  • Utilizing internal client relationship management systems (CRM and Excel) to keep records and track progress;
  • Assist with ad-hoc tasks as required

Required skills and experience:

  • At least 4 years of prior professional experience;
  • Demonstrated experience in campaign work, sales, project management, and/or event management preferred;
  • Strong oral and written communication skills, and ability to interact with high-level stakeholders with confidence and fluency on key campaign messages and goals;
  • Strong attention to detail, time management and organization skills, with an ability to work effectively under pressure;
  • Knowledge of environmental sustainability topics, particularly GHGs, climate change and renewables
  • Excellent writing skills, including the ability to make complex technical subjects accessible to non-expert audiences
  • Proven ability to work collaboratively in a culturally and geographically diverse professional environment
  • Ability to work collaboratively with a range of teams and external stakeholders, liaising as needed across different time zones, teams, and cultures within the organization;
  • Understanding of the aims and objectives of CDP, as well as a passionate desire to drive forward the mission of CDP;

This is a full-time role based at CDP’s Hong Kong office jointly reporting to the Associate Director, CTA and Director, CDP Hong Kong .

Salary and benefits: HKD 360,000 per annum, 24 days’ holiday plus bank holidays, annual discretionary bonus, Training and development and other benefits.
