Cufa has been developing community access to affordable financial services in the Asia Pacific region for 50 years, working cooperatively at grass-roots through to government levels to create sustainable livelihoods, improve lives, and relieve poverty.

Cufa is seeking an International Fish Farming Expert/Team Leader to work on a three-year project to be implemented in Bangladesh and the Philippines. The project’s objective is to increase the capacity and empowerment of women and incentivize their involvement in the aquaculture sector through climate-resilient farming best practices and financial literacy training.

Team Leader Responsibilities

To apply for the Fish Farming Expert/Team Leader role you must demonstrate experience in managing similar projects across multiple countries and regions within developing country status and demonstrate experience in undertaking the Team Leader responsibilities outlined below:

  • Serves as a Team Leader in the overall implementation until closure of the technical assistance.
  • Responsible for the overall implementation of the project.
  • Design and facilitate effective implementation of the technical assistance.
  • Ensure completion or delivery of outputs, process, operational and/or communications as needed.
  • Responsible for delivery of completion report.

Fish Farming Expert Selection Criteria

  • Master’s degree in aquaculture science, agricultural economics, environmental management, or other related fields. University degree in aquaculture science, agricultural economics, environmental management, or other related fields, combined with over 10 years relevant professional experience can be considered.

  • Proven experience in integrating climate change adaptive measures with smallholder fish farmers – compulsory requirement.

  • Prior experience with conducting training program for smallholder farmers in the fish farming sector – compulsory requirement.

  • Prior experience of working with women farmers including delivering training programs to all-female trainee groups – compulsory requirement.

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills in English – compulsory requirement.

  • Ability to communicate in the relevant local languages – highly desirable.

  • Proven experience and familiarity with aquaculture production in Bangladesh, the Philippines or other leading countries with developing aquaculture sector is highly desirable.
