European Aluminium is looking for a new intern to join its Public affairs and Communications team. The position is under the responsibility of the Director for Public affairs and Communications.
Profile:
- Background in EU Affairs/International relations, strong knowledge of EU policy and decision-making process
- Excellent oral, writing and communication skills in English, good knowledge of at least one other EU language (German a plus)
- Willingness and ability to work on a range of different issues
- Good organisational skills and eye for detail
- Pro-active and responsive with ability to quickly understand tasks and situations
- Strong research skills. Knowledge of how to find information quickly and efficiently. Familiar with the EU document registers, media and monitoring sites
- Interest in Sustainability, Circular Economy, EU Energy and Climate, Trade policies
- Experience in updating social media profiles (LinkedIn, Twitter, YouTube) and website management
- Mailchimp and Canva experience is a plus
- Previous experience in EU institutions/ consultancy is a plus
Responsibilities/tasks:
- Provide regular political intelligence through monitoring of information sources (media, EU websites, social media), attend and report on events in Brussels
- Support the advocacy activities (briefings, setting up meetings, etc.)
- Draft policy notes on new EU initiatives and relevant policy issues
- Support in organising internal and external meetings
- Support in preparing presentations
- Participate in internal and external meetings and draft minutes
- Responsible for the internal newsletters
- Prepare content for social media channels and updating the website
