The Search Analyst will work closely with team members to manage and improve search performance, educate stakeholders, and identify opportunities for enhancement.  This role will oversee search setup, development, and performance for the ABA website and administration of the search engine.

 


Essential Job Functions and Responsibilities

-Experiment, enhance, and optimize search results to continuously improve the website search experience, working closely with business and partner teams, soliciting feedback to drive search as a platform across the organization.

-Manage the enterprise search engine and perform updates to configurations and setup to improve results. 

-Establish and maintain the baseline for search performance, based on analytics, business goals, content strategy and other factors.

-Maintain documentation (guides, best practices) and provide training on taxonomy, tagging, metadata, SEO, and other search concepts.

-Analyze web content tracking reports to assist in taxonomy development.

-Manage taxonomy, topics, and tags.  Oversee and adjust metadata and tags on webpages and assets, to develop reports and recommendations on tagging gaps.

-Stay up to date and advise on search developments and technologies, providing SEO strategies and recommendations based on the website’s current SEO health, and opportunities to improve performance.

-Performs other related duties as required.

 


Required Education, Qualifications, Experience

-Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university with a minimum of three (3) years’ experience with search technologies or content management systems, or a high school diploma, or equivalent with a minimum of five (5) years’ experience with enterprise search technologies.

-Excellent understanding of search concepts and techniques, including taxonomy, indexing, tagging, relevancy, full-text search, etc.


Preferred Education, Qualifications, Experience

Bachelor’s degree in Information Science, Communications or related field. 1-3 years’ hands-on experience with Apache Solr or a similar enterprise search technology.
