The overall objective of establishing this long-term arrangement is to facilitate and expedite the process by which UNICEF Nepal will hire the services of psychiatrist to prepare the content and facilitate the mental health sessions for private sector employees/ entrepreneurs/ related stakeholders. This will contribute in achieving UNICEF Nepal’s advocacy goal to aware adolescents and young people in mental health and encouraging them to seek help or refer friends/family to services by 2022.
Specific Tasks

Prepare content, presentations, facilitate sessions and provide report
Duration of the contract:
The total duration of the consultancy is 11.5 months. Total 10 to 12 mental health sessions are planned within the period of 11.5 months and the consultant will be engaged only when the sessions are planned.

To qualify as an advocate for every child you will have…

MBBS, MD Psychiatry (specialization in children and adolescent psychiatry preferred)

More than three years of practical professional experience in providing psychiatric services/ training/ workshops

Fluency in English and Nepali to facilitate sessions in English and Nepali

Excellent communication and working with people

Previous working experience with UNICEF is an advantage

Individuals engaged under a consultancy or individual contract will not be considered “staff members” under the Staff Regulations and Rules of the United Nations and UNICEF’s policies and procedures, and will not be entitled to benefits provided therein (such as leave entitlements and medical insurance coverage). Their conditions of service will be governed by their contract and the General Conditions of Contracts for the Services of Consultants and Individual Contractors. Consultants and individual contractors are responsible for determining their tax liabilities and for the payment of any taxes and/or duties, in accordance with local or other applicable laws.
