To develop child rights training modules for various duty bearers, provide trainings on children’s rights and child rights governance to various partners and support organization of national child rights governance conference.
How can you make a difference?
To undertake trainings on child rights for Parliamentarians, Representatives of SAHRC, ORC and develop modules on child rights for various duty bearers with School of Governance. Prepare outcome document for DAC conference on child cantered child rights governance systems. Provide technical assistance to National Civil Society Coalition on Children’s Rights.
As a result, the consultancy is expected to:
- Collaborate with Parliament and coordinate with other experts to roll out the Parliamentary training on child rights governance.
- Provide advice to senior management on child rights governance system building.
- Provide technical support to the South Africa National Coalition on Children’s Rights to strengthen their M&E capacity in monitoring the implementation of the CRC.
- Training UNICEF staff and Volunteers on children’s rights / child rights governance.
- Draft the outcome document of the national child rights governance conference in collaboration with the children, Presidency, ORC, South Africa Human Rights Commission, Presidency, National Coalition of Civil Society organization’s and other stakeholders’ inputs at the meeting.
- Develop modules on child rights governance trainings for other actors in society (representatives from DSD, DoH, DPME, DBE, municipalities, civil society, police) based on the basic training manual in close collaboration with the School of Governance.

To qualify as an advocate for every child you will have…
- An advanced university degree (Master’s or higher) in
*A first University Degree in a relevant field combined with 2 additional years of professional experience may be accepted in lieu of an Advanced University Degree. - A minimum of ten years of professional experience in child rights programme, expertise and experience at the national level, is a requirement.

Relevant experience in programme development in child rights governance and child protection related areas is considered as an asset.
- Fluency in English is required. Knowledge of another official UN language (Arabic, Chinese, French, Russian or Spanish) or a local language is an asset.
