Position description

We are looking for a communications expert – and here are the main responsibilities:

  • Identifying newsworthy stories across the organisation as well as with our members;
  • Writing and editing articles, newsworthy press releases as well as edit interviews in English;
  • Establishing and maintaining good relationships with journalists;
  • Handling and coordinate press enquiries and position our team members;
  • Evaluating the impact of Hydrogen Europe’s press presence;
  • Prepare the daily media monitoring report for the team and the members;
  • Repackaging content for press and social media activities;
  • Involvement in the planning and organising of campaigns.

Qualifications

  • At least 2 (two) years’ experience in a media-relations role in an energy-based environment, or as a journalist in an energy-related field, experience in the hydrogen sector is welcomed;
  • Alternatively: A strong interest in energy and sustainability;
  • Experience in preparing and processing content for social media;
  • An excellent command of spoken and written English, additional languages are a plus;
  • Ability to communicate confidently and clearly about complex scientific issues;
  • A university degree or relevant professional qualification;
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, and demonstrated ability to quickly build and maintain professional networks;
  • A strategic, and “out-of-the-box” approach to communications;
  • Be a pro-active, independent thinker and creative member of the communications team;
  • Proficiency in the Microsoft Office package;
  • Excellent organizational skills;
  • Ability to multitask and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment;
  • High level of curiosity and willingness to learn about the hydrogen sector;
  • Sense of humour.
