We are looking for a communications expert – and here are the main responsibilities:
- Identifying newsworthy stories across the organisation as well as with our members;
- Writing and editing articles, newsworthy press releases as well as edit interviews in English;
- Establishing and maintaining good relationships with journalists;
- Handling and coordinate press enquiries and position our team members;
- Evaluating the impact of Hydrogen Europe’s press presence;
- Prepare the daily media monitoring report for the team and the members;
- Repackaging content for press and social media activities;
- Involvement in the planning and organising of campaigns.
Qualifications
- At least 2 (two) years’ experience in a media-relations role in an energy-based environment, or as a journalist in an energy-related field, experience in the hydrogen sector is welcomed;
- Alternatively: A strong interest in energy and sustainability;
- Experience in preparing and processing content for social media;
- An excellent command of spoken and written English, additional languages are a plus;
- Ability to communicate confidently and clearly about complex scientific issues;
- A university degree or relevant professional qualification;
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, and demonstrated ability to quickly build and maintain professional networks;
- A strategic, and “out-of-the-box” approach to communications;
- Be a pro-active, independent thinker and creative member of the communications team;
- Proficiency in the Microsoft Office package;
- Excellent organizational skills;
- Ability to multitask and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment;
- High level of curiosity and willingness to learn about the hydrogen sector;
- Sense of humour.
