HR analytics/people analytics has gained increasing attentions from the industries and a lot of organizations are applying advanced data analytics methodologies in the HR context. The UNICEF HR Analytics Team in the Division of Human Resources is dedicated to process, visualize and report UNICEF internal data and is currently focusing on improving recruitment activities. Recruitment is one of the key areas in HR and recruitment activities sometime take longer than expected. Senior managers are interested to understand the bottleneck of those prolonged recruitment cases and to remove any redundant processes so that hiring teams can engage in recruitment activities with an enhanced efficiency.
Under the direct supervision of the Human Resources Associate (focal point for recruitment data), the intern will support the HR analytics project for recruitment activity to understand how we can optimize our process so that we can reduce time to recruit. To achieve this goal, the intern will collaborate our HR Analytics team and apply HR analytics and statistics methodology to understand what the main obstacles are and to present our findings and suggestions to our senior managers to improve the recruitment process.
How can you make a difference?
The internship programme will include following objectives:
- Perform statistical analyses (e.g., linear regression) on recruitment data to understand the relationship between time to recruit and other variables
- Conduct a questionnaire with our stakeholders (e.g., HR focal point, hiring managers, HRBP, etc.) and apply an unsupervised learning method (e.g., PCA, clustering analysis, etc.) to the result of questionnaire.
- Set up informational interviews with our stakeholders and conduct a qualitative analysis
Modality: full-time, teleworking
Tentative start date: 1st, June 2021
Duration: 3 months
To qualify as a champion for every child you should…
- Be enrolled in an advanced university degree (Master’s or higher) in Data Science, Operations Research, Statistics, or HR analytics
- Have a profound understanding in inferential statistics (e.g., t-test, chi-square test, ANOVA, etc.), GLM (e.g., linear regression, logistic regression, etc.), and unsupervised learning (e.g., PCA, clustering analysis, etc.).
- Be experienced in using Python and/or R to process data cleaning and apply statistical analysis
- Fluency in English is required.
- Experience in HR is a plus.
